Hello My Valued Guest,
When I came to this country in 1963 from my homeland in Sicily, I had no idea what was meant by the "land of opportunity." At the age of 16, I entered this country not speaking any English and had no idea who would hire me because I had no skills, except to cook.
I received many opportunities along the way from being a cook at the Northshore Country Club to the bank that gave me my first loan. I was proud of how quickly was able to pay that loan off - or so I thought. That was my first experience on how quickly "interest" adds up. All part of living and learning in the business world.
So I find myself 20 years plus later overseing an internationally recognized restaurant that has expanded from eight tables and a four burner stove; to a restaurant which seats over 160 guests and 17 employees.
I have much to be thankful for, because I certainly didn't achieve this myself. If I may be so bold to stay that I feel I have the best and most dedicated staff in Milwaukee. They continually represent Mimma's Cafe with a supreme skill and dignity. I want to specifically thank my wonderful Giuseppi who has been my partner in the kitchen for over ten years. He puts his flavorful personality in every dish.
My longevity is and will continue to be from the guests that fill our chairs daily. Many of you have chosen Mimma's Cafe for a special occassion and for that I thank you for your trust. Many more of you come through my door wanting a wonderful dining experience for your hard-earned dollar. Knowing that makes me want to work as hard to prepare a magnificent meal in return.
So to you I raise my glass and say; Grazie cari Amici, per bellissimi e prosperosi 20 anni di attivita ristoratiua e guardo audnti per I prossimi 20 anni con voi al mio fianco.
